Nina Hansen
My main research interests are in the area of intergroup relations. More precisely, I am interested in the influence of socialidentity on inter- and intragroup processes, emotions, and behavior. I am currently working on two main lines of research:

Social discrimination: I am especially interested in how people respond to the experience of social discrimination. More precisely, I am interested in the impact of self-regulation processes, social identification, and perceived legitimacy on affective and behavioral responses to social discrimination.

Social change: More recently, I have started a project together with Tom Postmes on the educational, psychological and cultural effects of the one laptop per child initiative (olpc). In a longitudinal study we investigate social change among Ethiopian children. We examine primary consequences (educational) as well as secondary consequences: changes over time in self-concept, social networks, cultural values, -beliefs and practices, as well as changes in social equality.
